The Spiral Wound process is 100% mechanical and can be installed in live flow. This system consists of a single strip of polyvinyl chloride profile, progressively wound into the existing pipeline by the SPR TF machine.
The winding machine rotates and traverses within the pipe, interlocking the PVC profile together against the host pipe wall. This process allows the liner to be installed without additional steps to fill annular spaces.
Pipeliners are constructed directly onsite using only existing access points, such as a standard manhole. This method meets design standards such as ASTM 1741-18 and ASTM 1697-18, specifying the proper installation of mechanical and machine-wound PVC profiles.
